The King James Bible Page
Defending and promoting the KJV
on the Internet since 1995

http://av1611.com/kjbp/

Indeed this site does promote the King James Version of the bible and has many helpful articles on understanding the versions of the bible.

However beware of the leaven of the Pharisees; they will promote many false teaching and doctrines, they resist the Holy Ghost, and are anti truth, blinded by the false doctrines.

With that being said there question and answer of FAQ section can give you fundamental direction to new seekers. So in that case and outside articles I I believe that God does use this site and those false teachings I pray there is deliverance for those so entangled.

Grading on the curve I would give this site an A, put it on your favorites. There is not many site out there without problems for we are in the process of the great falling away, take things with a grain of salt.

I wonder why Brandon Staggs still list on his site King James as a version, does he really believe the King James is just a version?

Book Review

Wide as the Waters

Benson Bobrick

I would recommend this book to anyone that has time for tidbits that have insights that are rarely considered, Mr. Bobrick has a genuine original presentation. How he was able to come up with the research has to be a gift that I have to admit is amazing. I have not completed the book; I have a book loan to me by my dentist’s wife. I needed and you may to, a book that can be written in for future reference, I recieved a paper back today, and will continue on finishing it, with time that is available.

"I finished the book and would recommend reading it; there is an outside prospective of the events that is enriching."

Although I am not sure of Mr. Bobrick affiliation and deeper relationship with the Lord, maybe further reading will revile more.  I will follow later with a final conclusion. So far I give this book a solid B, good.

"Upon finishing reading this book I would stand with a solid B, good."

Bible for Today & Dean Burgon Society Rating C+  a little above Average

http://biblefortoday.org/   http://www.deanburgonsociety.org/

PROs:

These are wonderful web sites by Pastor D.A. Waite, it deals with the facts on the Authorize Bible (commonly known as the King James), MP3 downloads, Video Bible Sermons, and literature dealing with the issues.

I highly recommend this site for references and information, in spite of the below CONs. Get the meat but beware of their leaven.

CONs:

These people are anit-Holy Ghost.  In their general talking they say Holy Spirit instead of Holy Ghost, (I call that being infected by perversion version), which I don’t think they even know they do it.

You can not be part of there Dean Burgon Society, if you believe in the gifts of the Holy Ghost. They twist the scripture to justify their position. (1 Corinthians 13:8-12; Hebrews 1:2; 2:34) they us these as reference.  They even say the so called “sign gifts”. (see emails below)

They may be saved that is God’s judgment, however I would not like to be in the position of fulfilling;

Acts 7:51  Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

I also confronted them of there incorrect usage of faith.

 See my email correspondence Below:

Sirs,
I have read the Articles of Faith, and find them acceptable, with one
exception. If you would please, I have a problem with one word; if you could please
expound on.

Section A. The Bible ......"while at the same time realizing that, in
some verses., we must go back to the underlying original language Texts for
complete clarity, and also compare Scripture with Scripture.

This word "MUST" seem to indicate that once again the laymen must rely on
the advance scholar to clarify the scripture.
If "must" was "may" I really would not have a problem, however why does
any Bible believer have to now rely on any further clarification of the
translated Bible? Comparing Scripture with Scripture in the English of
the King James, should be sufficient, once one has accepted the Translation
as the Words of God.

I really love your work, and would love to be a member, although I will
continue to a supporter.
I would really appreciate a clarification of this position, for further
consideration of being a member.

Respectfully,

Dear Scott,
Thank you for your letter and for your interest in the Dean
Burgon Society. I am glad you noticed our new headings on our Dean
Burgon Society site labeled "JOIN THE DBS" which were suggested recently
by Dr. Williams, one of our DBS Vice Presidents.
The operative words here are "complete clarity." For example, in
2 Corinthians 6:14, the King James Bible has an excellent translation of
these verses. If someone is interested in "complete clarity," he MUST
go to the Greek structure. A person does not need to have "complete
clarity." If he does not want to go deeper into the very Words of God
given by the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit to the human
writer, that is all right. The DBS does not compel anyone to go beyond
the KJB if they do not wish to do so. I am a Baptist pastor. As I
preach verse by verse from a Bible book (without any boasting or
prideful motives), when it helps to inform my audience with "complete
clarity," I will often bring out some of the various meanings of words
or rules of the Greek language that I have studied. I believe the Lord
would have me do this since I am familiar with some of these things. I
would not expect a pastor who never studied Greek to do this, nor would
I fault him for not doing it. Each of us must work with the tools God
has placed in our hands to the best of our abilities.
"Complete clarity" would show a person, by the grammar of the
Greek language, that Paul is telling the Corinthians to "STOP AN ACTION
ALREADY IN PROGRESS" since it is in the present tense, rather than
telling them "DON'T EVEN BEGIN AN ACTION." Evidently, the Corinthians
were being unequally yoked with unbelievers and Paul told them to "STOP
IT!"
Many more illustrations for "complete clarity" could, of course
be given. The DBS is not compelling anyone to go beyond the King James
Bible's accurate translation. The statement applies only to those
seeking "complete clarity."
I hope this is somewhat explanatory. Pastor D. A. Waite,
President, DBS

Copy to: Dr. H. D. Williams, one of the DBS Vice Presidents

Dear Dr. Waite,

Thank you so much for taking your precious time to respond, I find myself
felling very humbled and honored that you would address my concern, and
yes your explanation was, helpful, meek and acceptable. I do believe your
ministry is the most important of it's time; I am compelled and
constrained to stress ministering the absolute necessity to stipulate that
the words of God are the gospel. Without the church turning back to the
words of God there can be no great revival in the land to the saving of
souls to the glory of God. O how we have been hindered by this cunning
devised attack on the words of God, let us no longer be ignorant.
Now I must confess I honestly had overlook two other item in the Articles
of Faith after I sent my first email, one is probably just semantics;
Section C., it being we are born again by grace and not by faith, but
through faith. The reason this seem important to me is that revisions
bibles have change the faith of God and Christ to faith in God and Christ.
By saying we are saved by faith in Christ is like a work we have done. I
know you do not believe that, but it is like we are infected by these
revisions and must be on guard of there leaven.
Second, is in Section B. first I think there is a typo at the end, there
is no Hebrews 2:34 as shown. But of a greater matter, I have gone over
this resistant of the gifts with other Baptist and have proven the error
of there thinking by the scriptures. It amazes me how men who study the
words of God can resist the power of God, but such is to this moment of
decisiveness I have been brought.
I know there is a lot of kooky false manifestation out there, but what
better way to cover up the great workings of the Holy Ghost. Time is
short, I believe, God is bring about the reconciliation of all things
sooner than we all think, let us not be hindered by ignorance any more.
I would be blessed with the opportunity to reproof and corrected you by
the scriptures that God’s words are not vain on this subject and that the
gifts truly do operation in true believers.
Betwixt us and that is Acts 7:51, I hope and pray that this received in
meekness, faith and temperance.

God Bless you and all that you do,
In the love of Christ and
Respectfully, for Jesus Christ is Lord.

Dear Scott,
"By faith" or "through faith" mean the same.  As far as the section B on the TRINITY,  "We believe that the so-called "sign gifts" (1 Corinthians 12:7-11) of the Holy Spirit (such as tongues, prophecy, knowledge, etc.) ceased with the completion of the New Testament canon around 90 or 100 A.D. and are not present today (1 Corinthians 13:8-12; Hebrews 1:2; 2:34)."
If you so not agree with this, you would not be able to become a DBS member.  But thank you for your interest and agreement on the other parts of our ARTICLES OF FAITH.  Pastor D. A. Waite

I Responded to Pastor D. A. Waite to then tell be what is
Romans 3:30  Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Again I believe although they know the King James is the only English Bible they do not really understand it or
truly follow it.
I never receive an answer or a correction, nothing.

Review of Darkness to Light (Gary Zeolla) Rating D-poor

Reason to review Mr. Zeolla, is primarily his attempt to translate the Bible himself.

Mr. Zeolla, seem and appears to be a well meaning man, however he has lend himself to a dangerous ground, in translating an alterative bible. I do not believe that through my observation that Mr. Zeolla believe there is a pure word of God. For this he is not alone; however I will give him credit not to be as hypocritical as most, who say they do believe in an inerrorant and infallible word of God, yet reject the true Word of God (King James Bible), and yet have no example of the Pure Word they believe in.  I did not read Mr. Zelloa Books or his entire Web Site, finding it lacking with foundational problems, as rejecting the King James as the Bible, and Creation position of 10,000 years ago, however he seem to believe in a 6 day creation. I did email Mr. Zelloa a few times and found him to find other versions in error including the New King James he prefers, (see copies of email below).

For this reason I would not waste my time for real Godly information from this web site.

Emails to and from Gary F. Zeolla,          Simons in Purple--, Gary in Black

   >Hi, I just found you web site, and it seems very balanced. Maybe  you could help with your understanding.

    >Why do all other translations leave the work "of" out in Acts  2:17?

   >Do you think if means anything?

   >[KJV] Acts 2:17  And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith  God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and  your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,  and your old men shall dream dreams:

   >

   >Scott Simons

I did some quick checking, and the NKJV and NASB both include the "of"

but the NIV does not. The "of" is a translation of the Greek  preposition "apo" which means "of" or "from." I rendered it "of" for  my translation as well.

And it will be in the last days (says God), [that] I will pour out of  My Spirit upon all flesh [fig., all of humanity]; and your* sons and your* daughters will prophesy, and your* young men will see visions,  and your* old men will dream dreams.

Why the NIV does not include it, I cannot say for sure, except that  the NIV is not a very literal version. Whether it makes any  interpretive difference, I am also not sure. The "of" makes it sound  like not all of the Spirit is poured out, which makes sense since the  Holy Spirit is God and thus unlimited; as such, He cannot be totally  poured out. But without the "of" it makes it sound like all of the  Spirit is poured out. That is about the best I can make of it.

God bless,

Gary Z.

   >PS you may do an experiment with a few friends and see how many  people will

I'm not really sure why the KJV variously uses "holy Spirit, Holy  Spirit, holy spirit, Holy Ghost." It could be because of different  translators working on different parts of the NT. Or maybe just bad  editing in the first three. But the later is really inexcusable. Call  the Spirit a "Ghost" has given some people the wrong impression of  the Third Peson of the Trinity.

Bad editing is probably the reason the minor differences in the NKJV  and ASV. But for my ALT, I am sure I consistently used "Holy Spirit"

 - which is what it should be.

God bless,

Gary Z.

   >Thanks again Gary, I appreciate you insights. By the way in Acts  2:18, I

It should be "of My Spirit" in both places. I'm not sure why the NKJV  is consistent in this regard.

Differences Between Bible Versions Translation Principles, Greek Text-types, KJV-onlyism

       http://www.dtl.org/books/preview/dbbv.htm

When one lends themselves to an inconsistent bible perverted versions and continues with it even when shown clearly they are not consistent, then those teachers need to be rejected until they repent with fruit meet of repentance. Anyone can be wrong but in the face of anything we must adhere to what the Bible says and not lean to our own understanding. In Gary’s own words he has translated his own New Testament and his primary bible is the New King James, what more do we need to continue to consider.

“I (Gary F. Zeolla) mention throughout this Web site that the New King James Version (NKJV) has been my primary Bible for some time. Even with having translated my own New Testament (the Analytical-Literal Translation, ALT), I still use the NKJV quite extensively. I discuss why I like the NKJV in detail in my book Differences Between Bible Versions. But in this two-part article I will summarize my reasons for liking the NKJV.”
